History

First mentioned in 1357 as "Mairhof zu Torkel in Plairs", the Torgglerhof at that time ranked as one of the largest and finest estates in Algund. The property was converted into a castle in the 18th century and was acquired by the Theiner family in 1911. After the death of Franz Theiner, his oldest son Karl inherited the castle in 1972, who fully renovated it two years later.

Tradition

Irene and Andreas are the third generation of the Theiner family to run the castle. With its own winery, Schloss Plars today offers a pleasant sojourn to guests who appreciate good taste, refinement and romance.
